Don Quixote

Don Quixote

The Plaza is known for its statue of Cervantes with Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Cervantes (1547 – 1616) created Don Quixote as the world's first modern novel, published in the early 1600s.

Madrid at night

Madrid is alive with people at night - people going out to eat, dancing, to the movies - or just walking with family or friends.

Movie Premiere

Mime

Hard Rock Cafe

We passed a big crowd waiting to see the movie Gente con Clase with Julie Andrews (Relative Values - see IMDb.com). It wasn't just a movie - it was an event! There were live actors posing a scene from the movie in front of the theatre.
We also passed a mime with two dogs. I snapped this photo and dropped some pesetas in his hat.
Madrid has lots of restaurants. Try delicious Spanish tapas or paella - or get a taste of home at McDonalds or the Hard Rock Cafe.
